Senior Data Scientist role at Investment Bank.
You will contribute towards implementing innovative solutions for the organization and their clients. The position will have a strong impact on driving results, enabling sales and enhancing the bank’s revenue generating efforts. Successful candidates will have demonstrable skills in identifying, integrating and executing innovative ideas.
You will have a close partnership and alignment with key stakeholders, from Operations and Technology through to the Global Investments salesforce. This pioneering new role is a great opportunity to make a real impact within the Bank.
Role requires a very energetic Analyst with excellent communication and time management skills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Construct innovative solutions, tools and frameworks for Global Investments via improved data capture and efficient programming
• Constantly improve and maintain data sets to successfully identify, integrate and execute innovation initiatives
• Solve key challenges with data linkage and digitization by exploring opportunities in disruptive new technology
• Employ data science to unlock opportunities for the Bank and its clients
• Grow a data-centric culture
• Maximize visualization and analytical insights using both internal and third party sources
• Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure timely and accurate results that drive the business
• Deliver big data analytics from a data science and data engineering perspective (expertise in data manipulation, visualisation, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning and deep-learning based techniques
• Ensuring the completeness and comprehensiveness of data structure by integrating the sources for newly identified data points
• Design, develop, and scripts to import, modify and enhance data to identify client opportunities
• Consistently follow and support regulatory policies• Knowledge of Capital Markets and Managed Investment products including derivatives and alternative investments.
• Extensive years of experience in product related quantitative analytical roles
• Strong programming skills to apply to data science / engineering projects, including:
o Extensive experience with analytical tools, machine learning / AI languages and algorithms (e.g., Python, MatLab, R, Julia, SQL, etc)
o Demonstrable knowledge and application of machine learning libraries and repositories (e.g., TensorFlow, Hadoop, Hive, Go, Sklearn, Spark preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of experimentation and statistical methods
• Demonstrable domain expertise in product metric identification, improving data quality, experimentation design and execution.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure or similar platforms
• Background in innovation including design thinking, prototyping and also have solid commercial awareness
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce high quality, accurate work: your work will directly impact the advice we give to our clients!
• Strong written / verbal communication skills to provide insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders (visualization and storytelling skills)
• Can-do attitude, sense of ownership and a team-player approach.
Client Service oriented with the ability to strengthen relationships across Operations, Technology, Global Investments and other partners, working together to deepen client relationships
• Quantitative background in in a technical field with a Graduate degree eg.Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Math.
Knowledge of Modern Portfolio Theory, risk analytics, financial markets and investment strategies a bonus.
